A Self-Funded Teaching Programme with focus on the New Economy and Sustainability

The Grow Programme teaches the process that converts an entrepreneurial idea into a real business from conception of an idea through to delivery and post-sale analysis. It has been developed over two years in consultation with the Department of Education and Training NSW, individual schools, teachers, students and business mentors. It calls upon academic research that focuses on experiential e-commerce, project learning models. Our programme encourages creative and divergent thinking to achieve great outcomes for communities and links sustainability to the new economy. The programme funds itself, whilst enabling students and teachers to keep pace with e-commerce and the potential job market for students.

At its core is a State of the Art, e-Commerce teaching system that uses real products which are sold via a student designed online shop. Your teacher supervised, cashless micro business allows students to work both collaboratively and individually towards an agreed set of business goals, highlighting how individual responsibility has broader implications. We encourage students to take a mindful approach, reflect on their individual strengths, analyse how profits can be used and “have a go” at a myriad of business related jobs in a safe, supervised environment.

No textbooks, just a contemporary “hands on” approach to teaching and learning. We understand that mistakes are great learning opportunities. This process leads to students achieving a better understanding of where individual skills fit within a broader business context. As individual and group confidence builds, so does the level of sophistication within the Grow Programme. As a big picture project, Parents and Friends and local community groups are encouraged to support your school’s Grow Programme to create student pathways to real jobs.

In addition, our Online Grow Programme Community unites other schools in the programme to exchange ideas and experiences to demonstrate the relevance of STEM subjects to real life. Our Art Marketplace provides an online space to showcase your creative talents in art and craft, music and indigenous cultures and our Grow into a Great Job Programme teaches skills in resume construction, current job market trends and roles, interview techniques and all things HR.
